Noma Sana Is Not Just Another Brand
it's a movement that seeks to shine a positive spotlight on Afro hair. With a brand name that comes from the Swahili expression meaning 'amazing' or 'great' in English, we give hair types 3 and 4 a new identity, discarding the old names that they have been called - ugly, complicated, and challenging. It is our aim to change the narrative. We put type 4 and type 3 hair in the forefront rather than as an afterthought, of hair conversations.
OUR STORY
Our journey began with a simple realization:
the electrical hair care industry was leaving out a huge portion of the
population. While the shelves were stocked with products catering to hair types
1-2, those of us with coily, Afro-textured hair were left with limited options that
often fell short. We struggled to find electrical hair tools that understood
our unique needs – tools that would not subject us to excessive heat, rough
materials, or lengthy styling sessions. Yet, we never did.

has created a society where coily hair types are tagged unwanted, pressuring
people with such hair types to change their natural hair texture so they can
fit in, damaging their sense of identity in the process.
